We've put together a selection of FAQs, to ensure your booking is as straight forward as possible.
What are your opening days and hours?
We are open Wednesday – Sunday, our opening time varies. Wednesday 11am – 10pm. Thursday to Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 8am-4pm. Food is served Wednesday-Saturday until 8pm and the bar will remain open until 10pm.
Does the hotel have a car park?
We have a free car park for hotel guests with dedicated places for Blue Badge holders. Nearby Waddesdon Manor has four spaces in the visitor car park signposted for the purpose of electric vehicle charging. Spaces are suitable for a 16A EV Type 2 charging socket and are free of charge.
How far is your hotel from the Town Centre?
We are situated in the middle of the historic village of Waddesdon. We are approximately 10 minutes’ drive from Aylesbury Town Centre, and 30 minutes’ drive from Oxford.
What is the public transport like?
Local Red Rose bus (16) runs from Aylesbury to Marsh Gibbon via Waddesdon. Please note: this is an infrequent service and there are no buses on a Sunday. The nearest train station is Aylesbury Vale Parkway, and regular trains run from London Marylebone. A taxi or bus journey is required to get to the hotel.
What time is check out & check in?
Checkout is politely requested by 11 am. Late departures may be arranged at our discretion, dependent upon room availability. Check in is guaranteed from 3 pm.
Is the Five Arrows a non-smoking hotel?
Yes, all rooms and public areas inside the hotel are non-smoking.
Do you have complimentary Wi-Fi?
Yes, complimentary high speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
What categories of room does the hotel have?
We have single rooms, six classic and six deluxe doubles, as well as three luxury junior suites. All rooms are en-suite.
Do you have an accessible room?
Yes, we have an accessible room leading onto the internal courtyard.
Are there tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms?
Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities are available in every one of our rooms.
Are toiletries provided in the rooms?
Yes, complimentary toiletries by The White Company are included in every room. Each room also has a hairdryer and an iron.
Do your hotel rooms have baths?
The majority of our deluxe rooms and junior suites all offer bath and shower facilities. Classic Double and Single Rooms feature walk-in showers and/ or baths.
How many hotel rooms do you have?
We have 16 rooms at the Five Arrows Hotel.
Can you arrange transport to and from Heathrow/Gatwick airport?
Yes, please contact Reception who will be able to assist you.
Are taxis readily available?
Yes, can be ordered at Reception in advance and/or usually arrive within 10 minutes of booking.
Do we pay for accommodation when we book?
We do not take payment at the booking stage; we pre-authorise the card provided to guarantee your reservation, for the full accommodation amount, 48 hours prior to arrival. No funds are debited from the card until and unless the transaction is completed or cancelled.
Do you offer breakfast?
A delicious breakfast with both continental and cooked options including homemade pastries and locally sourced ingredients can be enjoyed in our restaurant by all guests.
What time do you serve breakfast?
Breakfast is served at 7.30am to 9.30am Wednesday to Friday, and 8am to 10am Saturday & Sunday. All guests can choose between a continental or traditional full English breakfast.
Do you offer room service?
While we don’t offer room service, the cosy restaurant offers great quality lunch and dinner menus, serving a choice of seasonal starters, mains and desserts cooked fresh to order.
Is there a children’s menu?
Yes, the restaurant offers a selection of delicious classic dishes, specifically designed for children.
Do you have any information on the interiors and artwork in the hotel & restaurant?
Recently refurbished throughout, the interiors have been designed by Design House Winchester. Much of the artwork around the restaurant features paintings of Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine labels by some of the most celebrated artists of their day, including Dali, Picasso and Francis Bacon, to name but a few!
Can we visit Waddesdon Manor while staying at the hotel?
Tickets to Waddesdon Manor grounds are included during seasonal openings. Please visit the website for opening dates and times. During this time all Manor tickets will need to be pre booked, please speak to a member of the team to book your tickets.
How far is the hotel from Waddesdon Manor?
The Five Arrows is situated at the gates to Waddesdon Manor. The visitor entrance is approximately 15 minutes walk from the hotel, or a few minutes drive.
Is there much to do at Waddesdon?
Please visit the ‘What’s On’ page on the Waddesdon manor website to find a comprehensive list of upcoming events and activities.
Is your hotel dog friendly?
Three of our 16 rooms are now dog-friendly, along with the gardens and bar area in the main hotel. Our ‘top dog’ Charles welcomes your dog everywhere in the hotel except the restaurant, but you are welcome to dine with your dog in the bar area. A maximum of two dogs per room are allowed.
Do you have a gym in the hotel?
We do not have a gym, though there are several gyms in nearby Aylesbury. If you prefer running, we can suggest some suitable routes around the Waddesdon Estate.
Do you have a spa?
We do not have a spa, though we recommend nearby Hartwell House.
Is there a laundry service?
The Five Arrows doesn’t currently offer a laundry service for guests.

We have carefully placed our furniture to adhere to social distancing measures and introduced disposable menus. Table numbers are being managed in line with government guidelines and our commitment to a safe environment is, as always, a top priority.
